There has been a rapid uptick in the level of interest about lycanthropes — otherwise known as werewolves — in recent years. Most experts in the field agree that Elliott O’Donnell’s encyclopedic study of werewolves remains one of the best resources on the subject
The book is in very good condition with vibrant red boards and bright gilt titles to the front and spine. The binding is tight and square. The tip of the spine has received some restoration which is what accounts for the book’s very good rating as otherwise the cloth in in near fine condition. The book has sharp corners and no edgewear. The end papers have no owner names, bookplates, and no inscriptions but slight faded faint foxing. The interior pages are overall very clean with an occasional faded handling mark, otherwise, no marks, no stains, and no writing. Tiny nick to outer margin of the first few pages (see image). The book is in the First State with the requisite publisher’s catalog, dated Autumn 1912. Beautiful readable book with a tight binding and stunning boards. Please see images.
The original first edition teal blue dust jacket has benefited from restoration by an expert conservator and as such presents in very good plus condition. The jacket has vibrant colors with overall slight fading and/or age toning. Please see the detailed images. The dust jacket is NOT Price clipped and with 5/- net price on spine. This jacket received more restoration than our other first printing copy and as such is reflected in the discounted price. However please note the original jacket is exceedingly scarce in any condition.
