THE ART IS IN FINE CONDITION AND WAS CUSTOM MATTED, FRAMED AND GLAZED TO 17.5″ X 17″. A VERY STUNNING PIECE!

A superb and exceedingly scarce drawing of Snoopy playing Ice Hockey. The drawing depicts Snoopy in action, hockey stick in hand, zipping around the ice, chasing down a puck with his ears flying.  Accompanied by a newspaper comic sheet from 1970 which also depicts Snoopy playing Hockey (inserted into a sleeve on the verso of the frame).  All drawn in felt tip. The art is boldly signed and inscribed by Charles Schulz in full signature “All best Wishes / Charles M. Schulz”. The art is on a page of 8.5″ x 7.75″ by sight. The art was newly custom matted, and framed in a black semi-gloss frame using all archival materials, and UV glass to 17.5″ x 17″. The art is in fine condition with a faint area of sunning to the right edge.

Ice Hockey was an important sport for Charles Schulz. Growing up in Minnesota, Schulz was an ardent Hockey player playing on a rink in his backyard. A hockey lover for life, Schulz decided to build the Redwood Empire Arena near his California studio in 1969. Schulz was awarded the Lester Patrick Award in 1981 by USA Hockey, which recognizes an individual's contribution to growing the game, and in 1993 he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder

A very strong and vibrant piece with an important presence, perfect for a Ice Hockey lover and collector of Charles Schulz.
