First Edition, First printing: Near fine stated first edition in a scarce vibrant exquisite unfaded dust jacket. SIGNED by John Irving to the half title page, “John Irving” in black pen and not inscribed to anyone! Near fine book with near fine jacket. Accompanied by the original signing ticket.
The book is in great condition with quarter red cloth and red paper boards. Gilt titles to the spine. The boards have sharp corners with one gentle tip bump, and no edgewear. The binding is tight and square. The internal pages and end papers have but a very occasional handling mark, otherwise are clean with No marks, No inscriptions, No stains, No bent pages and No foxing. The book was signed on the half title page by John Irving “John Irving” in black pen. Accompanied by the original signing ticket. Beautiful clean book, internally appearing as unread. The original first edition dust jacket is in near fine condition with strong vibrant colors. The jacket has benefited from a small touch of restoration to the spine tips, and has No edgewear, No chips, No tears, No rips, No stains, and No rubbing.
