A near fine book in a high quality facsimile dust jacket of the first printing. The famous sequel to When Worlds Collide, an apocalyptic catastrophe novel that was a huge commercial success with over 1/2 million copies sold. The story of When Worlds Collide was made into a film in 1951 which won awards for special effects, and then sparked the 1950’s sci-fi boom.
A near fine book with vibrant blue boards and gilt titles to the spine with a gilt planet detail to the front board. The book has sharp corners, and no edgewear but with one edge bump to the top of the front board. The binding is tight and square. The cloth is very clean and fresh, and the spine (and ONLY the spine...) has what appears to be a protective coat of shellac/varnish on it. The interior pages are clean, bright and flat. The end papers have a decorative owner bookplate. Please see the many included images.
