First Edition, First Printing First State. A beautiful clean book with vibrant gilt titles, the original end papers and original tissue guard. Crisp binding. The true first US printing of this book was printed by Osgood in 1873, (only superseded by the very scarce UK Sampson Low edition).
The book is in beautiful condition with clean green boards with a strong vibrant gilt scene to the front and spine. The book has benefited from rebacking laying the original cloth back down. The book has no edgewear, and the binding is very tight and square. Unlike most copies of this title which have poor/cracked bindings and loose pages, this book is tightly bound and is quite readable and not fragile. Scarce original brown coated end papers present as well as the original tissue guard. All pages are present, and are exceptionally clean for a Verne book but but a few scant pages with very faded/pale foxing, otherwise with No stains, No handling marks, No foxing and No bent pages.
