A vibrant and detailed Oil and watercolor on board by Ludwig Bemelmans, signed by him lower right “Ludwig Bemelmans”, and inscribed “Antibes” at lower left, and along the top margin “The Old Port and the Arche De Noe”. An adorable bustling scene at the port, depicting incredible detail with a woman pushing a cart of fresh fish, men in their French berets, some smoking pipes, others sitting with a cane, chatting under a canopy. To the left is a dog at a tall village fountain, all under decorative canopy of leaves and in the background of the water. Presented in what appears to likely be the very original frame. An energetic active scene at the port of Antibes!
