The art was newly matted, framed and glazed in a long glossy black frame to capture the concept of the cricket in motion. Signed by Eric Carle underneath the cricket “ERIC CARLE”. The finished frame size is 17.5″ x 11.5″, The art page is 10.25′ x 4.5″.

This drawing was located within a page of the book “The Very Quiet Cricket, written and illustrated by Eric Carle. The ink drawing has been professionally matted and framed with fully archival materials and UV glass to protect the art, and is ready to hang.

Unlike many artists and illustrators, Eric Carle rarely dedicated or sold his art, with the exception of his few dedicated pieces going to a close personal friend, Bill Holloran. Other than these pieces, the balance of his personal collection were pledged to The Eric Carle Museum Of Picture Book Art. As such, his original artwork in any form is extremely scarce and only one gallery currently even sells any works of Carle’s.
