Maurice Sendak signed vibrant poster, titled “NEW YORK IS BOOK COUNTRY, TENTH ANNIVERSARY”, featuring the Wild Thing, Bernard, with the banner in his mouth, reading a book. Boldly Signed by “Maurice Sendak” along the bottom in black ink. Full sheet size of 24″ x 18.5″. Fine condition. The artwork was rendered in highly vibrant saturated colors. A spectacular presentation!
PROVENANCE: The poster comes with outstanding provenance, EX: the Collection of Justin Schiller. (Shiller is the reknown expert, collector, prominent authority on Sendak’s artwork, and author of the book, “Maurice Sendak: A Celebration of the Artist and His Work”) This piece will be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice, and lot description.
