A delightful Ink and ink wash on board illustration for page 57 of Tommy and the Wishing Stone by Thornton Burgess (New York: The Century Co., 1915), with their label on verso. The size the art is 13.25 x 9.25 inches, on 19 1/2 x 14 1/4-inch board. Signed “Harrison Cady” in lower right image, captioned in lower margin: “With Peter he made occasional visits to a not too distant garden,” and again in right margin: “Why Peter Rabbit has one less enemy [?]” An adorable, large, very detailed, and extremely scarce piece of Cady artwork! Presented in a new archival gold toned frame having been matted framed and glazed using UV glass to a finished size of 20.5 x 16.5 inches.

Note- Original Harrison Cady artwork is quite sought after, with his Peter Rabbit pieces perhaps being the most collectible. The very few that we have seen even coming to market in this size and condition, (and framed), have sold for $4,000 and that was nearly a decade ago.
