First Edition, First Printing: Stunning near fine/fine crisp clean book with vibrant boards with a beautiful very bright FINE first printing dust jacket. The first collection of Lovecraft’s writings and the first Arkham House book.
The book is in bright, crisp condition with navy cloth and gilt titles to the spine. The book has clean cloth with some residue stain to the lower spine (where the jacket was once tacked in place on the book). The boards have sharp corners (one very slightly pushed), and no edgewear. The binding is tight and square. The end papers are clean with no bookstore stamps, no bookplates, no owner names, and no inscriptions. The internal pages are clean, crisp, bright, and flat with no marks, no stains, no handling marks, no writing, no bent pages, no stains, and no foxing. The half title page had a professional repair to a small 1/2 inch intact tear along the top edge. Stunning clean, bright book internally appearing as unread!
The original first edition dust jacket has benefited from very very slight restoration by an expert paper conservator and as such presents in Fine condition. The jacket is exceptionally bright withOUT the typical toning to the spine or rear panels- and it still retains strong vibrant colors. The jacket has no rips, no chips, no stains and no foxing. BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP
First Edition, First Printing: Near fine book in the very scarce near fine jacket. The print run of this title was just over a 1,000 copies and locating a copy with a complete dust jacket is not easy. This title is the perfect accompaniment to the “The Outside And Others”, as “Beyond The Wall of Sleep” was Lovecraft’s sequel of short stories. Both published by Arkham House, these two make a unique set perfect for a Horror or Lovecraft collector.
The book is in black cloth and with gilt titles to the spine. The book has sharp corners with two slightly pushed, and no edgewear. The binding is tight and square. The end papers have one tiny scripted owner name to the upper corner of the paste down neatly hidden behind the jacket flap. The internal pages are clean, crisp, bright, and flat with no marks, no stains, no handling marks, no writing, no bent pages, and no stains. Light foxing to the outer page block and the first few pages of the book.
